DESCRIPTION:Sheriff’s Family Day is a fun community event hosted by the S
 an Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation. The event is held annually
  in September at the Madonna Meadows next to Highway 101 in San Luis Obis
 po.\n\nThe event is free to people of all ages and is intended to entertai
 n and educate the public on the positive role that our local law enforceme
 nt and safety personnel play in our community\, including the display of t
 heir equipment and demonstrations.\n\nFamily Day allows attendees the oppo
 rtunity to participate in different activities and experience first hand t
 he excitement and satisfaction of coming to the aid of others. It offers t
 hose who are considering public service as a career the chance to speak wi
 th other people who are already doing the job.\n\nAnd just for Junior Sher
 iffs (up to age 12)\, FREE T-shirts\, Hots Dogs\, and Bike Raffle Tickets.
