Would YOU have been Ready for the
July 18, 2017 Bridge Fire • Dec. 4, 2017 Thomas Fire • Jan. 9, 2018 Montecito Mud Slide
How long would it take you to get ready?
How would you prepare your house?
How would you take care of your family?
What if you dialed 911 and you heard only a busy
tone, or, what if there was no dial tone at all?
What would you do?
In the CERT training course, you will learn to be self-reliant in an emergency. After completing the program, you will have the option to become part of a response team when a disaster happens.
CERT is an 18 hour, hands-on course, that teaches individuals to be better prepared in the event of a major disaster and to work as part of a team to assist others. By taking the six
CERT training classes, you will learn how and when to turn off your utilities, firefighting skills, medical skills, dealing with hazardous materials, terrorism awareness, light search and rescue techniques and most importantly, you’ll learn self-reliance. In the event of a large-scale disaster, the normal emergency response agencies that serve you may be overwhelmed and might not be able to assist you for up to 72 hours. It is simply a matter of supply and demand.
