Last October, the local Cal Fire Chiefs asked if there was interest in a county-wide CERT program.
After several missed attempts at a meeting time and place, the word got out. Unfortunately, it seemed as though the inquiry was doomed before it could even get started. The only timeslot available was 5pm on a Friday.
Boy, they couldn’t have been more wrong. The meeting would take place in the County building on Monterey street in SLO and there was not even standing room available.
Needless to say, there was definitely an interest
The result of that meeting was a group of people who agreed to meet again to determine what should be done.

PS – Of course, this year’s meeting would be fraught with perils for its date and time too. In the end, everyone agreed that it should also be held after work hours on a Friday so the same people could potentially attend. Do not worry, next year’s meeting will be at a better time!
