The San Luis Obispo Regional CERT has announced the date and location for its annual meeting.
- October 24th, 2017
- 6:00 to 7:30 pm
- SLO Vet’s Hall
Every year, the Regional CERT invites anyone interested in local disaster preparedness to come find out what is happening within the entire San Luis Obispo County. Since its first steps only 2 years ago, several volunteers have not only created a California nonprofit corporation (9 months ago) but also established working relationships with all County Fire Chiefs, purchased training equipment, supported existing CERT organizations, and helped others begin the process of creating a CERT organization in their local community.
Additionally, they have established a board of directors with three people who epitomize the idea of being and maintaining a state of preparation so everyone will always be ready for any disaster. Sheriff Ian Parkinson, Cal Fire Chief Scott Jalbert, and Training Delivery Group Manager for California State OES Robert Lewis will each introduce themselves and discuss what CERT means to them.
